Yesterday Baylor played Texas Tech in a women’s basketball show down. One Baylor player put the smack down on Texas Tech…and not in the good way. Brittney Griner, Baylor’s super-frosh center, slugged Jordan Barncastle in the face after Barncastle fouled Griner pretty hard. Barncastle was walking away, and I would characterize the blow as a sucker punch:
Griner was ejected for a flagrant foul and will be suspended at least two games. Griner is one of the few women to dunk in the history of women’s college basketball and now becomes one of the few women to slug another woman in the face during a game. Well played Brittney, you’re in the history books in more way than one.
