Whoops. Apparently the Vikings official website was a little quick on the draw declaring victory during Sunday’s NFC Championship game. The website temporarily displayed a screen shot of the team that said “NFC Champions” and had spots where fans could order championship gear. According to ProFootballTalk.com, the image didn’t go up because someone in the football brass pulled the trigger, but because a website operator put the page up too quickly. Somebody’s getting fired.
Could this explain the terrible Favre interception? There really is no explanation for that throw outside of some terrible curse inspired by a premature declaration of victory…unless of course, the QB is Brett Favre. Wait, the Jets were the only team to pre-sell conference championship gear on their team website and they lost in the AFC Championship game. I declare the official curse of the overzealous team website in effect.
